MENTAL ABUSE BANNED IN NYC!!!!!!
Dave Jones of Mental Abuse has released the following statement:
“I was appalled and I resent the accusations (by ABC NO RIO) with the total being of my soul. I was hurt deeply by what ABC No Rio did to me. They told me to send them my lyrics prior to getting the show. They reviewed the lyrics and ok’ed them and gave us the show with the requirement that we make a flyer. I made the required flyers and they said they loved them please put them up. TWO WEEKS LATER they canned me from the show!”
This is what ABC NO RIO wrote to Mental Abuse:

due to the potentially sexist/ homophobic lyrics for sock woman , i regret to inform you that you are off the show. this is not negotiable - if lyric s can be construed this way, even if they are not meant to, it is grounds for not being able to play. sorry .

LOUSYPALOOZA III was a great success!! Thousands of Dollars were raised by John Watson and the team at Lousyland for the children of Ronald McDonald House. Thanks to all the bands and businesses that donated their time and resources and all the punks who came out to support the kids and the scene. This was a great, all day Punk Rock fest with a lot of postive energy. CHECK OUT ALL THE GREAT LOUSYLAND PHOTOS IN THE GALLERY!!!!
Dave Jones gave the crowd an Xperience, hair waiving, Les Paul flaring under a custom portrait of Johnny Ramone that was auctioned off to raise money for the kids at Ronald Mc Donald House. Dave even wrote a song for the show…”There’s a place where punks and skins come together, the place is Lousyland.”
Former Suburbans guitarist and artist Jamie Rosenthal rocked out onstage with Dave in a rendition of Bo Diddley’s “Pills.”
And Jones was joined onstage by John Watson, former, early Mental Abuse guitarist; Lousypalooza co-founder and member of Lousy Break for an “old German folk song” that kicked ass!
As the Lousyland song says, “A Great Time Was Had By All!”

Punk Rock with a Heart. HC4LIFE!
It was a hot night for music on Sunday March 30th in NEPA.
“Thanks for coming out and coming together to help raise money for the fire victims,” Dave Jones said to the crowd before launching into a 50 minute set of songs filled with loud guitar and lots of stories, “and make sure you change those smoke detectors!”
Dave Jones layed down some licks for a good cause Sunday night at SPURS Saloon in Pittston, PA, joining with other local bands to raise money for the Golembeski family who lost everything in a fire. Dave was the only Alternative Rock / Punk Rock act there - Spurs is a country theme bar with cactus on the wall and bull riding each Thursday - Yeah - pretty darn hardcore! The PA locals gave Dave a warm reception as he rocked through Mountain Road, Blue Beam and Game of Life, among others. Sara of Dealer In Wares, also on the bill, joined Dave onstage to play Harmonica in a rendition of Bo Didley’s Pills. And, as the crowd shouted PLAY MORE! PLAY MORE! PLAY MORE! Dave launched into an encore with the with the floor stomping Sugar Mama.
